772 books to go!

Summary:
This book contains 19 short stories inspired by the Twilight Zone series. This is a second anthology of short stories.

Opinion:
I dig the twilight zone a lot, some of these stories were pretty interesting, some were possibly a little bit too over my head but I enjoyed them anyway.

Why I chose to read this:
I found it in the short story section of the library before I left for the wedding and decided to pick it up.

Book 227 One for the Money by Janet Evanovich

One for the Money (Movie Tie-in) (Stephanie Plum Novels)

773 books to go!

Summary:
Stephanie Plum finds herself working as a bounty hunter for her cousin Vinny. She's after Joe Morelli in order to earn $10,000 commission. This debut novel for this series follows Stephanie as she chases after Morelli, and dodges unwanted advances from a boxer who abuses women. Stephanie finds herself in a lot of interesting trouble that will sometimes have you literally laughing out loud.

Opinion:
I enjoyed this book and will now eagerly plow through this series among the many other books I'm reading. I love Stephanie's character as I'm sure many people do. I would also like to see the movie.

Why I chose to read this:
Among the many books Shawn found for me to put on my kindle when he got it for me as a Christmas gift a few books in this series were included. In order to get to the ones on my kindle I had to start the series with the first novel and continue.

Book 226 Hannibal Rising by Thomas Harris

Hannibal Rising

774 books to go!

Summary:
This novel tells the story of Hannibal lector, from a young boy to a medical school student. The book spurns the birth and evolvement of the creepy Hannibal Lector character I somehow love so much.

Opinion:
I found this book interesting, a nice prequel to the series. I read the series when I was in early college, but I'm re-reading it because I don't remember much.

Why I chose to read this:
I bought this series from Amazon sometime last year. It's one of the books I own at home that I opted to read.

Book 225 Still Missing by Chevy Stevens

 Still Missing

775 books to go!

Summary:
Annie O'Sullivan is abducted during an open house she's conducting for her real estate job. She's raped and beaten by her abductor and forced into a twisted partnership with him. This story doesn't end there, after Annie's abduction and homecoming the police are on the hunt to find a possible partner that worked with her abductor.

Opinion:This book was interesting. I liked the horror behind it although it was a bit creepy, and the ending was definitely very twisted, possibly even more twisted then what Annie went through during her abduction. It was also kind of unbelievable although I guess something like that could happen in life.

Why I chose to read this:
Another free kindle book that I got, that I decided to read over the honeymoon.

Book 224 The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell

The Carrie Diaries

776 books to go!

Summary:
This book details Carrie Bradshaw's senior year of high school.

Opinion:
This was pretty interesting. I liked reading about Carrie when she was in High School. I did enjoy this book much better then 4 blondes which I ended up hating.

Why I chose to read this:
This was one of the free books that I got for my kindle, decided to give it a read during the honeymoon.

Book 223 Family ties by Danielle Steel

Family Ties: A Novel

777 books to go!

Summary:
Annie inherits her sister's three children after her sister and her brother-in-law die in a plane crash. Annie is 26 when she inherits the kids, she sacrifices most of her life for them, and raises them well. But when they become adults they still make mistakes, this novel goes through some of the trails Annie and the kids go through after they grow up.

Opinion:
This is the second Danielle Steel novel I've picked up and honestly I'm not sure I'm going to read another one. She has a semi interesting writing style, the two books I've read summarize the life of the characters in a few short pages as they set up the characters for the time period and storyline that will take up the majority of the story. I enjoyed Big Girl but I found family ties to be kind of hokey. It was bad, but weird because it was so bad I couldn't put it down til I finished reading it. This is a first for me, I usually put a bad book down and quit reading it. Or at least I try to.

Why I chose to read this:
One of the magical freebies I got for the kindle, read it during the honeymoon.

Book 222 When Hope is Gone: The story of Papo Salsa by Pedro E. Acevedo

When Hope Is Gone: The Story of Papo Salsa

778 books to go!

Summary:
This is a novel of a young man's life torn apart by war. Papo Salsa, his real name is Eddie Torres, lives in the Bronx. He salsa dances like a champion. His life is going well for him, he's a good kid, respectful, he has a nice girlfriend who he's deeply in love with, suddenly he's drafted and sent to Vietnam, then everything changes for Papo Salsa.

Opinion:
I enjoyed this book, I honestly thought I might not like it but it turned out to be a great story. The author completed his purpose for me because he took me into the life of Papo Salsa and immersed me in his story. For a newly published author Mr. Acevedo is pretty good and this story is worth the read.

Why I chose to read this:
I actually found out about this book when I had facebook, I bought it for my kindle but didn't read it until now.
