If you are looking for a cheerful Christmas read this is definitely not the book you, but it is pretty damn amusing. Comedian Lewis Black details Christmas Day for a Jew. It's cynical, somewhat angry, and life pondering. I'm a fan of Lewis Black and found this to be a funny read before Christmas.

Here long distance relationship continues with Mike Quinn, I'm hoping he'll come back when his year is up and him and Clare will get married but I don't know if that's what the author has in store for these two.

Book 265 The Christmas Wedding by James Patterson

The Christmas Wedding

735 books to go!

This book was just awful, a terrible way to start my Christmas reading. Gaby Summerhill invites her family back to the family farm for Christmas, she's throwing a Surprise wedding. Three guys have asked to marry her and Gaby will choose and marry one of these men on Christmas day, she won't tell anyone who she's marrying until the wedding ceremony. The three men interested in Gaby are Tom (an ex-hockey player), Jacob (a rabbi at a temple) and Marty (her brother in law). Of course predictably her whole family comes home for Christmas for the wedding celebration. Ultimately the gross factor goes up big time when Gaby chooses to marry her brother in law. I'm sorry I was deeply disturbed by this, who the hell marries their brother in law? It's a step away from blood related incest. This book was cheesy, unbelievable, dumb and gross, don't waste the read.

Book 262 The Sartorialist by Scott Schuman

The Sartorialist

738 books to go!

Scott Schuman is a street fashion photographer. This book is based off his blog the sartorialist. I didn't really understand half of what you call fashion featured in these photographs, but Mr. Schuman was trying to emphasize a person's style over what's trendy or fashionable anyway. It was an easy read, many photos, not much text, a couple of interesting photo stories. What irked me is the women who wore sandals and stockings, I hate the sandals or open toed shoes and stockings combination, I will never understand it and I will always personally think it's hideous.

Book 260 Gone Girl by Gillian Flynn

Gone Girl: A Novel

740 books to go!

Amy Dunne goes missing on the day of her fifth anniversary. All evidence points to the possibility of her being murdered by her husband Nick. The book takes a most surprising twist halfway through the novel, it's not your classic husband goes berserk and murders wife story, not at all. It was a great read until the very end, the ending pissed me off.

Book 259 Bad Kitty Christmas by Nick Bruel

A Bad Kitty Christmas

741 books to go!

Once in awhile I enjoy an awesome children's book. Children's books are pretty amazing, when Shawn and I eventually have a child a favorite part of motherhood to me will be reading them books. This book by author Nick Bruel is a part of the bad kitty series. The book features a nice story and repetition of the alphabet by using various words from A to Z three times in the book. I picked it up as part of some books I checked out of work for Christmas reading. If you're an adult this is an awesome quick enjoyable read, if you have kids they should definitely love this book and learn with it.

Book 253 Many Bloody Returns edited by Charlaine Harris

Many Bloody Returns

747 books to go!

Charlaine Harris worked with various authors to create a compilation of short stories about the topic of Vampires celebrating their birthdays. These stories were interesting work, the topic itself is interesting and it was enjoyable to read how clever and creative each author got with this story idea.
