The debut novel in the Magie O'Dell series by Alex Kava. Maggie comes to small town Platte City, Nebraska to investigate the murders of young boys. The murders have been shaking up the community. I didn't dig the ending but it does allow room for the series to continue, I'm not sure if the murderer is going to be Maggie's nemesis throughout the whole book series or if he will appear again in a later book.
